Castel Badia

Castel Badia is a castle over a thousand years old, located above St. Lorenzen in the Dolomites, which reopened in December 2025 after extensive restoration.

Originally built around the year 1000 and later used as the region's first Benedictine convent, the house today impressively combines historical heritage, contemporary design, and luxurious hospitality.

The 29 individually designed rooms and suites, a chalet in the countryside, and a spa in the medieval vaults create an exceptional retreat deeply rooted in the history and nature of the Puster Valley.

Culinary, Castel Badia is characterized by regionally inspired fine dining cuisine, harmoniously combining tradition and modernity.

The project originates from the collaboration between Aldo Melpignano, the Kronplatz Group, and the Gasser and Knötig families – a fusion of international vision, local identity, and authentic hospitality.
