Immediate Retreat

Kenya – where endless grasslands meet snow-capped mountains. Kenya's landscape is characterized by savannas, lake districts, the spectacular Great Rift Valley, and mountainous highlands. Kenya's native wildlife includes lions, elephants, and rhinos, among others. The Maasai Mara National Reserve is known for the annual wildebeest migration, and in Amboseli National Park, the view extends to Mount Kilimanjaro.

  • Segera from Wilderness Safaris is located in the high grass plains of the Laikipia Plateau in central Kenya, which extends from Mount Kenya to the edge of the Great Rift Valley. Laikipia has the second highest wildlife density in the country. Segera's six elegant wooden and thatched villas rise above wild flora and offer views of snow-capped Mount Kenya.
  • The experience in a 4x4 vehicle through the historic savanna, which is rich in various steppe wildlife as well as lions, leopards, cheetahs, spotted hyenas, elephants, buffaloes, reticulated giraffes, African wild dogs, Grévy's zebras, the endangered patas monkey, and 365 bird species. Guided nature walks, getting up close to animals from a hide, and a helicopter flight over the Rift Valley and the Great Lakes.
  • Botanical garden with sculptures from the owner's African art collection
