Susanne Gräfin von Moltke

Board Member of Relais & Châteaux

Susanne Gräfin von Moltke has been a member of the board of the Relais & Châteaux hotel and restaurant association since November 2020 and is delighted about the new task: “I am very pleased to be able to actively shape the direction of our association and its strategic cornerstones as a member of the board and thus also to be able to represent Germany and the entire German-speaking region in this select circle.” Susanne Gräfin von Moltke herself has known the hotel and restaurant association for many years: She and her husband own the Relais & Châteaux Gut Steinbach Hotel & Chalets, a 50-hectare retreat in Reit in Winkl in the Bavarian Alps.

The estate was lavishly renovated by the Graf von Moltke family and reopened with high standards in terms of holistic sustainability in 2011 and permanently developed further, such as with the new chalet village in 2017. The sustainable approach is expressed, for example, in the award-winning cuisine, with around 80 percent of the food that is used being sourced within a maximum radius of 80 kilometres from the hotel. Since 2016, Susanne Gräfin von Moltke has been an active delegate for the German delegation of the association. Before moving into the hotel industry in 2013, she made a career in the advertising industry and managed several German agencies at a subsidiary of the J. Walter Thompson (WPP) agency, where she advised major brands in the beauty and fashion sectors.
